Dark Blonde

Here is an example of a true ‘dark blonde’ color done by Neil George Salon colorist Tyle Mahoney, whose client Shay Todd, an extremely talented swimwear and resortwear designer, was kind to share with us this gorgeous color.  Naturally a dark brown, Shay had issues with getting brassy hair color when trying to lighten it. Tyle used a really weak/diluted tint formula that doesn’t ‘overlift’ to keep her out of an orange category. Fine highlights were weaved throughout to give her a golden sand color. All of the tips were done using the hand painted/balayage technique, and Tyle sealed the whole color with a very translucent golden sand color gloss.

Pro tips: To avoid a brassy color that can be caused by sun and heat damage, protect it with a spray leave-in conditioner that has an SPF, like the Neil George Detangle Nourishment Spray.
